1. Our commitment

Vincent J. Deleo Professional Corporation is committed to making its website, services and communications accessible to people with disabilities, and to treating everyone in a way that preserves their dignity and independence.

Accessibility is treated here as an ongoing obligation rather than a one-time exercise. Where a barrier is identified, it is removed as soon as reasonably practicable, and an alternative is offered in the meantime.

2. Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for making web content more accessible. This website was designed and built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

The firm's assessment is that the site is substantially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA: it meets the standard, with the possible exceptions noted in section 5. This assessment is based on internal review rather than a formal third-party audit — see section 9.

3. What has been done

Specific measures taken in the design and build of this site, rather than a general statement of intent:

• Colour contrast exceeding the standard. Body text sits at a contrast ratio of 8.5:1 against its background and headings at 9.7:1, both above the 7:1 Level AAA threshold. Secondary text meets Level AA at 5.9:1. The palette was deliberately adjusted away from the brand's original charcoal to achieve this.
• Full keyboard operability. Every link, button, form field and menu can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, in a logical order, with a clearly visible focus outline that is never removed.
• A skip link to jump past the navigation straight to the main content.
• Semantic structure. Proper landmark regions, a single logical heading hierarchy on each page, and real lists and labels, so that screen readers can navigate the page by structure.
• Motion that respects your settings. If your device is set to reduce motion, every animation on the site is disabled and its end state is shown immediately. No content flashes.
• Text alternatives for images that carry meaning; decorative images are marked as decorative so screen readers skip them.
• Accessible forms. Every field has a visible label that stays visible, and validation errors are announced to assistive technology rather than shown by colour alone.
• It works without JavaScript. If scripting is unavailable or blocked, all content remains visible and readable.
• Responsive and zoomable. Text is set in relative units and reflows without loss of content down to a 320-pixel viewport and up to 200% zoom.
• Declared page language (en-CA), so screen readers use the correct pronunciation.

4. Compatibility

This site is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile, used together with assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnification, speech recognition and browser zoom.

It may not work reliably with browsers more than about three years old, or with assistive technology that does not support the standard accessibility interfaces those browsers provide.

5. Known limitations

These are set out plainly rather than omitted, so you know what to expect and can ask for an alternative:

• The contact form is delivered by a third-party service. The form itself is accessible, but the confirmation and error pages that service may display are outside the firm's control. If you would rather not use the form, email or telephone instead — both reach the same place.
• Photographs have brief text alternatives. Descriptive alternatives are provided, but they summarise rather than exhaustively describe each image. If a fuller description of any image would help, ask and one will be given.
• No independent audit has been carried out. Conformance has been assessed internally. An issue that internal review missed is possible, which is why the feedback process in section 7 matters.
• Documents. No downloadable documents are published on the site at present. If any are added, they may not immediately be tagged for screen readers, and an accessible version will be provided on request under section 6.

6. Accessible formats and communication supports

On request, the firm will provide — or arrange for — an accessible format of any information it controls, and any communication support you need to use its services. That includes correspondence, engagement letters, financial statements and tax summaries.

These are provided in a timely manner, taking your accessibility needs into account, and at no cost beyond what anyone else would pay for the same information. The firm will consult you about which format actually works for you rather than assuming.

It helps if you can say which page you were on and what happened, but an incomplete report is far better than none. Feedback is acknowledged within five business days, with an explanation of what will be done and by when. Feedback may be given anonymously, though a reply is only possible if you leave contact details.

If you need to give feedback in another format, say so, and one will be arranged under section 6.

8. Ontario's accessibility legislation

This statement is made having regard to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation.

The firm meets its applicable obligations under that legislation, including the accessible customer service requirements, the duty to provide accessible formats and communication supports on request, and the duty to maintain a feedback process that is itself accessible.

The regulation's specific requirement that websites conform to WCAG applies to designated public sector organisations and to large private organisations. As a small firm, Vincent J. Deleo Professional Corporation is not bound by that particular provision, and has adopted WCAG 2.1 Level AA voluntarily as the standard for this site because it is the right thing to do rather than because it is compelled.

9. How this statement was prepared

This statement was prepared on 11 August 2026 following a self-evaluation of the website against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, covering colour contrast measurement, keyboard-only navigation, structural and heading review, behaviour with reduced-motion settings, and behaviour with JavaScript disabled.

It is reviewed when the site changes materially, and at least once a year. Any barrier reported under section 7 is assessed on receipt.
